Tea Recipe: Red Grape and Black Tea Lassi

Tea Recipe: Red Grape and Black Tea Lassi

I am North Indian for real and completely besotted with my Lassi (Indian Yogurt Smoothie). Combining it with my love for tea, I improvised this mystic Red Grape and Black Tea Lassi. Sharing my recipe for Tea Trunk:

Ingredients:

1 cup milk (skimmed or full cream based on your preference)

3/4 cup thick yogurt (be sure to check consistency)

2 tablespoons loose-leaf Assam tea ( I used Assam tea from Korangani estate.)

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 cup red grapes

1/2 banana (for the smoothie texture)

Preparation:

  • Start by placing red grapes and banana in the freezer for minimum 4 hours.
  • Combine milk and tea leaves in a saucepan to simmer. As soon as the infusion begins to bubble, remove from heat and cover. Let it stand for 2 minutes. Strain the infusion and refrigerate until cold.
  • Blend the infused milk with remaining ingredients until you reach a smooth texture. Pour in 2 glasses and serve immediately.
  • Avoid adding ice cubes. You may chill the drink if required.
Voila! You've learnt a new recipe for Black (Tea) Magic. Do share with me how it turned out for you. All the best!
