Every day in Mumbai, fortunes are made and dreams are realized. Hard work requires burning the midnight oil, of course, fueled by endless cups of steaming chai! Whether you are in the business district of South Mumbai or in the homeland of Bollywood in suburbs, everyone knows “Chotu”, the local chaiwalla. Take a journey to know their stories. Explore the chai culture that defines the pace of the city.

Whether you are a tea enthusiast, city lover or just someone who enjoys a cup of tea and conversations, this walk is sure to engage your senses and deliver an enjoyable evening around town.

Making of Chai Walk: I have specially curated this walking tour of iconic tea places around South Mumbai, with key inputs from prominent historians on the city’s history and architecture. This is our second season of hosting Chai Walks in the monsoon and we are look forward to many more to come.

Dates: Saturday, 27th July, 4 pm to 6 pm and Sunday 28th July, 4 pm to 6 pm

Your contribution: Rs.500 for one Chai Walk session.

Be kind to your feet: Please wear comfortable walking shoes.The walk involves light walking of around 30 minutes spread between 4 locations.

The Chai Walk will be hosted and conducted in English.
