Looking to add an extra punch of nutrition into your diet? A smoothie is a delicious, super easy and nutritious way of sorting your breakfast or snack time needs. Simply pour a few basic ingredients into your blender, whip it up, and enjoy.
This matcha smoothie recipe contains no processed ingredients or refined sugars and gets a superfood boost from matcha and a few chia seeds. If you like you can sneak in a handful of spinach as well once you get a little more adventurous.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1 banana, peeled, sliced, and frozen
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 3 cubes ice
- 1-2 pitted dates( If you'd like it a bit sweeter, depending on how sweet the banana is)
- 1 cup fresh baby spinach, packed (optional)
METHOD
Pour the almond milk into the blender.
Add in the rest of the ingredients.
Blitz till you get a smooth consistency.
For a thinner, more drinkable smoothie, adjust the consistency with a little almond milk.
Transfer to a glass or bowl.
Top with fruit as desired and enjoy right away!
P.S. We topped ours with some banana slices and pomegranate for a pop of colour.
