5 ways to upcycle Tea Trunk Tea Tins

If you love our teas as much as we do, you’re sure to have a lot of tea tins around the house. But what exactly do you do once you’re done drinking the tea? Here are a few ideas that we came up with for you to try out, which we hope will inspire you to come up with newer and more creative ones.

The first and most obvious thing to do with a tea tin is re-use it to stock your favourite teas. You can purchase refill packs online and fill up the tea tins with them.

If you’re someone who finds fulfilment in DIY projects, here are a few easy and fun ideas that you should definitely try.

First up, we have a punched tin can, candle holder. Take a print out of your favourite shape, icon or letter and place it on the tin. Get a hammer and a nail and get to work punching holes in the tin. You can then paint the tin in the colours that you like, place a tea light inside the tin and voila, a pretty little candle holder, ready to cosy up your room.

Looking for the perfect rustic silverware holder to match your kitchen accessories? Why not make one? Grab the number of tins you need, find a sturdy piece of wood and glue them on or hold the tins in place with nails. You can then paint them to match your kitchen design.

You can use tea tins as desk organizers to keep all your stuff in one place while adding a personal touch as well as a spot of colour. They can similarly be used as organizers for jewellery, craft supplies, stationery and the like.

For a lively spot of greenery in your home, use our tins as planters for cacti, succulents, or even your very own herb garden. You can drill a hole at the bottom of the tin for drainage, or if you prefer keeping them indoors on a shelf or table, create artificial drainage within the tin by layering small pebbles, pieces of charcoal and then mud.

Another simple yet creative idea is to use tins as vases. You can decorate them with burlap, decoupage, lace or simply some rope and you’ve got a pretty vase to hold your flowers.

When it comes to creativity, the sky's the limit. So think outside the box and re-use our tins in as many fun and innovative ways as you can. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
